PP Demands Transport Minister Puente’s Resignation Over Train Accident Statements
The Popular party (PP) is calling for the immediate resignation of Transport Minister Óscar Puente, alleging he misled the public regarding the circumstances surrounding the train accident in Adamuz, Córdoba. PP Secretary General Miguel Tellado made the demand on Sunday, January 21, 2024, citing Puente’s “lies” as disqualifying him from holding office.
tellado stated during a press conference that Puente’s “careless” deception during a tragedy was unacceptable and undermined his credibility. He specifically criticized Puente’s explanations concerning the December 16, 2023, train collision that injured multiple people. The accident involved a Renfe passenger train and a freight train.
