Pistons Acquire Kevin Huerter, Dario Šarić in Three-Team Trade

Detroit, MI – February 4, 2026 – The Detroit Pistons bolstered their roster today, acquiring veteran sharpshooter Kevin Huerter and forward Dario Šarić in a three-team trade with the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves. The move, announced by NBA.com News Services, aims to add depth to the Eastern Conference-leading Pistons as they push for a deep playoff run.

In exchange, the Pistons sent guard Jaden Ivey and a 2026 first-round draft pick (protected swap) to the Chicago Bulls, while the Minnesota Timberwolves sent Mike Conley Jr. To Chicago and received cash considerations.

The Pistons will receive Huerter and Šarić from the Bulls. Huerter, averaging 10.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 44 games for Chicago this season, is a career 37.1% three-point shooter, though currently shooting 31.4% from beyond the arc. Šarić was recently acquired by the Bulls.

The Timberwolves, facing financial concerns, shed Conley’s contract, reducing their anticipated luxury tax bill from $24 million to approximately $3.8 million, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks. This financial flexibility could be crucial as Minnesota explores potential moves for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo before Thursday’s trade deadline.

The Bulls acquire Ivey, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft, and Conley, adding veteran leadership and a young player to their core. Ivey, who was sidelined last season with a broken left fibula and underwent knee surgery in the offseason, was averaging a career-low 8.2 points per game this season.

The Pistons (36-12) currently hold the No. 1 record in the Eastern Conference, led by All-Stars Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duren. However, Detroit has struggled with three-point shooting, ranking last in the NBA in three-pointers made (531) and No. 27 in three-point attempts (1,524). The addition of Huerter, alongside Duncan Robinson, is expected to address this weakness.

All four players involved in the trade – Huerter, Šarić, Ivey, and Conley – are on expiring contracts. The Bulls quickly moved on from Šarić, trading him less than a week after acquiring him from the Sacramento Kings in a separate deal.

Huerter was previously traded to the Bulls by the Sacramento Kings at last season’s trade deadline. His arrival in Detroit is expected to provide a needed offensive boost and spacing for a team with championship aspirations.

Conley, averaging 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists for Minnesota, will bring veteran experience to the Bulls.
