Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” Tops Country Airplay Chart – Billboard

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” Reaches No. 1 on Country Airplay Chart

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has ascended to the top spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, dated February 14. The track garnered 29.7 million audience impressions, a 4% increase, during the week of January 30 to February 5, according to Luminate.

The song’s climb to No. 1 was remarkably swift, taking just 16 weeks. This is the quickest ascent to the top for a song led by a woman and without any co-billed artists since Carrie Underwood’s “Church Bells” and “Heartbeat” both achieved the same feat in 2016.

“Choosin’ Texas” marks Langley’s third No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart. Her previous leaders were “Don’t Mind If I Do” and 2024’s “You Look Like You Love Me,” both collaborations with Riley Green. Langley has now placed a total of six songs on the Country Airplay list, including 2025’s “Weren’t for the Wind,” which peaked at No. 2.

The success of “Choosin’ Texas” extends beyond the Country Airplay chart. The song has also topped Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for 10 weeks, reaching the No. 1 position in just six weeks – significantly faster than the 10-year average of 15 weeks. This performance places Langley in rare territory among solo female artists.

With an 11th week at the top of the Hot Country Songs chart, Langley would join Gabby Barrett (“The Good Ones,” 2021) and Kelsea Ballerini (“Peter Pan,” 2016) as one of the few women without any featured artists to simultaneously lead both the Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts since October 2012. The Feb. 14-dated Hot Country Songs chart will be released on Monday, February 9.

“Choosin’ Texas” is currently positioned at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, putting Langley in contention for a rare achievement should it reach No. 1.

HARDY’s New Collaboration Debuts on Country Airplay

HARDY’s new collaboration, “McArthur,” featuring Eric Church, Morgan Wallen, and Tim McGraw, debuts at No. 28 on the Country Airplay chart with 5.7 million audience impressions. Released on January 30, this marks HARDY’s highest chart debut among his 10 charted titles.

All charts dated February 14 will be updated on Billboard.com on Tuesday, February 10.
