Rennes, France – A new sophrology practice has opened in the Thabor Saint Helier district of Rennes, offering a pathway to well-being and emotional balance. Blandine Retailleau, the founder, is offering individual and couples sessions, as well as virtual consultations, aiming to address a range of needs from stress management to grief processing.

A Holistic Approach to Well-being
Sophrology, a method developed by neuropsychiatrist Alfonso Caycedo between 1960 and 2001, combines relaxation techniques, mindful breathing, and body awareness exercises. Emerging scientific studies suggest potential benefits in areas like stress reduction and anxiety management, according to Wikipedia.
Retailleau’s practice focuses on building self-confidence, managing emotions, preventing and addressing burnout, and providing active listening. She also offers family and couples mediation. “My approach is based on self-confidence, emotion management, prevention and support for burnout, active listening, as well as family and couples mediation,” she explained.
Each session begins with a conversation to understand the client’s needs. “To welcome what you are going through, and to clarify your need of the moment. I then guide you through simple and accessible sophrology exercises, based on breathing, gentle movements and positive visualization,” Retailleau described.
She caters to a diverse clientele, including adults, seniors, and couples. The practice also offers virtual consultations to broaden accessibility.
Retailleau’s services extend to addressing specific challenges such as sleep management, anxiety, phobias, and mental fatigue. She also provides mental preparation for exams and competitions.
