Jakarta – Kia has begun sales of the All New Carens Facelift as a premium multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026. The vehicle is priced starting at Rp 319 million (approximately $20,000 USD), according to announcements made at the show.
The All New Carens is offered in three variants: Trendy (Rp 319 million), a mid-range option priced at Rp 359 million, and the top-tier Signature model at Rp 399 million. Aviandra Pradipta, Head of Product at Kia Sales Indonesia, detailed the pricing structure.
All three variants are powered by a 1.5L Smartstream Gamma II, DOHC Dual CVVT engine, producing a maximum power output of 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque. This engine choice positions the Carens within a competitive segment of the Indonesian MPV market.
Kia is backing the All New Carens with a substantial warranty package, offering 200,000 km or 7 years of coverage for the vehicle itself, and a parts warranty of 20,000 km or 12 years. This extended warranty is intended to provide peace of mind for buyers and underscores Kia’s confidence in the vehicle’s reliability.
Beyond the vehicle launch, Kia is actively engaging visitors at IIMS 2026. Jong Sung Park, President Director of Kia Sales Indonesia, emphasized the importance of the event for direct consumer interaction. “IIMS 2026 is a crucial moment for The Next Chapter Kia to connect more closely with consumers through a more active and engaging approach,” Park stated. He added that the company aims to provide visitors with an immersive brand experience.
The All New Carens is the centerpiece of Kia’s display at IIMS 2026, alongside other models including the New Sonet, Carnival Diesel, Carnival Hybrid, EV9, Seltos – Concept, and PV5 – Concept. This broad portfolio showcases Kia’s range of offerings in the Indonesian market.
To further enhance the visitor experience, Kia is offering test drives of the New Kia Sonet, The All New Carens, EV9, and Carnival. This allows potential customers to directly assess the performance and characteristics of Kia vehicles. The availability of test drives is a key component of Kia’s strategy to drive sales and build brand loyalty.
The launch of the All New Carens Facelift represents Kia’s continued investment in the Indonesian automotive market. The MPV segment remains popular in Indonesia due to its practicality and suitability for families. Kia’s entry into the premium MPV space with the Carens aims to capture a share of this growing market.
The extended warranty offered with the All New Carens is a notable feature, exceeding the standard warranty provisions offered by many competitors in the Indonesian market. This could be a significant differentiator for Kia, appealing to consumers who prioritize long-term reliability and cost of ownership.
Kia’s focus on interactive experiences at IIMS 2026, including test drives and engaging booth activities, reflects a broader trend in the automotive industry towards direct consumer engagement. Automakers are increasingly recognizing the importance of building relationships with customers beyond the traditional sales process.
The pricing of the All New Carens, starting at Rp 319 million, positions it competitively within the Indonesian MPV market. This price point makes it accessible to a broad range of consumers while still offering a premium feature set and extended warranty. The availability of three trim levels allows customers to choose a configuration that best suits their needs and budget.
