San Jose Apartment Shooting: Man Hospitalized, Suspect At Large

Man Hospitalized Following Shooting in San Jose Apartment

San Jose, CA – , a man was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting at an apartment complex in San Jose, according to police reports.

The incident occurred in the 3900 block of The Woods Drive. San Jose Police Department officers responded to a report of gunfire at the location Saturday afternoon.

Authorities stated that the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. A preliminary investigation indicates that a male suspect was involved in the shooting.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, police confirmed. The investigation is ongoing, and officials have released limited details at this time.

This shooting follows other recent incidents of gun violence in the San Jose area. , authorities announced the arrest of Joseph Vicencio, 27, of San Jose, in connection with a triple homicide. San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan identified one of the victims as a city housing department employee. Police Chief Paul Joseph stated at the time, “Our detectives acted swiftly, working around the clock to put this violent suspect behind bars… But that doesn’t change the fact that three innocent lives were taken.”

More recently, on , police investigated a shooting in the 1200 block of North First Street. While no injuries were reported in that incident, a preliminary investigation determined a male suspect fired shots before fleeing. One individual was arrested in connection with an unrelated active warrant during that investigation.

The San Jose Police Department has not yet released any information regarding a potential motive or any suspects in the February 14th shooting. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the department.

Separately, on the same day, , reports surfaced of a possible active shooter at an apartment building in Oakland, according to the Oakland Police Department (OPD). Details surrounding the Oakland incident remain limited.
