According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the epicenter was 40 km deep, and the earthquake was observed in parts of Oita and Miyazaki prefectures as a result of shaking of the magnitude 5 river.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said there is no risk of a tsunami due to the earthquake.
