A great start! India won a medal in the Asian Under-20 Athletics Championship

Yecheon: India on a great start in the Asian Under-20 Athletics Championship. India won two golds and one bronze in the first two days. Heena Rezovana Mallik won gold in women’s 400m and Bharatpreet Singh in men’s discus throw. Antima Pal won bronze in the women’s 5000m.

Future star Heena Rezovana Mallick won the women’s 400m with a time of 53.31 seconds. He had won the gold in 52.98 seconds at the Asian Youth Championship held in Tashkent in April. Heena is trained in Bengaluru by Ajay Arun, who has roots in Kerala.

Bharatpreet Singh won gold in the discus throw with a throw of 55.66 metres. The Indian player secured the gold with a record in the third round. Antima Pal finished the 5000m race in 17 minutes 11 seconds. The gold and silver were won by Japanese players. In athletics, Japan leads the way with five medals, including three gold, one silver and one bronze. India is second in the medal table with two gold and one bronze.
