A NATO delegation visits Nouakchott-Sahara Media

A delegation from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) arrived in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, on a two-day visit, led by Admiral Robert Power, Commander of the NATO Military Committee.

The Mauritanian army said, in a statement, that the delegation discussed with the Assistant Chief of Staff; Major General Mohamed Fall Ould Rais, existing military cooperation relations between Mauritania and the Alliance.

The delegation also held discussions with Defense Minister Hanna Ould Sidi.

In addition to Admiral Robert Power, head of the delegation, the NATO delegation included Alanora Rissell, strategic communications advisor, and Colonel Julian Moreau, special assistant, in addition to the rest of the members of the accompanying delegation.

Mauritania and NATO participate in cooperation that includes the areas of combating “terrorism and combating illegal immigration, through the alliance providing funds to assist Mauritania’s military capabilities and training its army and security forces.”
