Ahmed Hossam Mido, the former Egyptian and Zamalek national team player, commented on Al-Ahly club’s negotiations with Mohamed Abu Jabal, the current national team goalkeeper, during his presence with the Egyptian national team in Côte d’Ivoire.

Mido wrote through his official account on the Twitter site “X”: “Vitoria, his staff, and the Football Association were not aware that Abu Jabal was negotiating his contract with Al-Ahly Club during the past 48 hours.”

He added: “A new farce in the history of Egyptian football.”

Al-Ahly Club reached an agreement with its counterpart, the National Bank, to obtain the services of Mohamed Abu Jabal, on loan until the end of the season, with the possibility of purchasing it permanently.

The Egyptian national team exited the African Cup of Nations in the round of 16, after defeat by the Democratic Republic of the Congo on penalties.
