Britain’s Sky News and AFP reported on the 1st (local time) that three Britons, including a famous British travel YouTuber, are being held in Afghanistan by the Taliban.

Among those being held by the Taliban are travel YouTuber Miles Rutledge, dubbed “The Dangerous Traveller”, medical charity activist Kevin Cornwell, and an unnamed hotel manager.

“We are working to secure consular contact with British nationals detained in Afghanistan and support their families,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.

Rutledge, who runs a YouTube channel called ‘Road Miles’, became famous after traveling to a war-torn or dangerous country and uploading this video to YouTube.

If you check out his YouTube channel, there are videos of him shooting while hanging out with the Taliban in Afghanistan. In addition, there are videos of visiting war-torn Ukraine and touring crime-prone areas in Kenya and Mexico.

Scott Richards from the Presidium Network, a non-profit aid organization in the UK, said that the organization supports the families of those detained,” he said.

He also said he knew they were being held by the Taliban in January after receiving a tip that they were carrying weapons.
