Abdul Nasser Madani Claims Kerala Police Provided Free Security, Demands Bail Conditions to be Relaxed

Accused in Bengaluru Blast Case Claims Kerala Police Provided Free Security

New Delhi, [Date]

In a recent development, Abdul Nasser Madani, the prime accused in the notorious Bengaluru blast case, has revealed in an additional affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court that the Kerala police had provided him with free security during his 12-day stay in the state. However, Madani alleges that he had to cover all expenses for the Karnataka police officers accompanying him, including their stay at a private hotel.

Madani further disclosed that a staggering amount of ₹6.76 lakh was already disbursed to the Karnataka Police for providing security measures. However, he asserted that these expenses were separate and should not account for the cost he had to bear for other services. Madani’s stay in Kerala, spanning from June 26 to July 7, was sanctioned by the Supreme Court to visit his ailing father.

Ironically, immediately upon his arrival in Kerala, Madani himself was admitted to the hospital due to a sudden illness. Undoubtedly, during this time, he claims to have shouldered the burden of funding the security, accommodation, and food expenses of the police officers accompanying him. Furthermore, he pointed out that the Karnataka police officials entrusted with his protection were staying in private hotels.

Madani made it clear that while the Karnataka Police played a role in his security, the Kerala Police provided their services completely free of charge. Unfortunately, the circumstances did not permit Madani to meet his father as he was hospitalized on the very day of his arrival. Doctors have confirmed that a kidney transplant will be necessary.

Under these circumstances, Madani asserts that he should be allowed to receive treatment within the country, especially considering that all his relatives are in Kerala. Through the additional affidavit, Abdul Nasser Madani seeks a relaxation of his bail conditions, urging the authorities to permit him to return to his hometown. Additionally, he requests the provision of adequate security by the Kerala Police when he departs. The Supreme Court is set to address Madani’s petition on Monday.

NEW DELHI: Abdul Nasser Madani, the accused in the Bengaluru blast case, said the Kerala police provided him free security during his 12-day stay in Kerala. Madani said this in an additional affidavit filed in the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, Madani said he had to pay all the expenses of the Karnataka police officers who came with him to stay in a private hotel.

6.76 lakh was given to the Karnataka Police for security. Madani Tyawangmulat says that this cost must be paid in addition to this. Madani spent in Kerala between June 26 and July 7. The Supreme Court had allowed Abdul Nasser Madani to go to Kerala to see his ailing father.

But as soon as he reached Kerala, Madani was admitted to the hospital after showing good health. Madani says that during this period he had to pay for the security and accommodation and food expenses of the police officers who were with the company. He also said that the Karnataka police officials who came to ensure his security were staying in private hotels.

Madani said that apart from the Karnataka Police, the Kerala Police also provided him security, but it was completely free. Madani said in the affidavit that he had to return without seeing his father as he was admitted to the hospital on the day he reached Kerala. Doctors have informed that a kidney transplant will be required.

Madani said that in this situation, he should be allowed to get treatment in the country and all his relatives are in Kerala. In the additional affidavit, Abdul Nasser Madani demanded that bail conditions should be relaxed and he should be allowed to go to Kerala. Madani also said that Kerala Police should be given security when he leaves. The Supreme Court will consider Madani’s summons on Monday.
