About the preliminary results of the survey related to the new coronavirus infectious disease in “Dot Estie B.LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME 2023 IN MITO”

Japan Professional Basketball League Public Interest Incorporated Association (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Shinji Shimada, hereinafter “B.LEAGUE”) dot este about new coronavirus infections B.LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME 2023 IN MITO ( hereinafter “All-Star”) We would like to inform you that we will publish the preliminary results of the survey in the location as follows.

This survey was conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). In the All-Star venue, we measured the mask wearing rate of the spectators, the cheering status of the spectators, and the CO2 concentration in the venue in order to understand the infection risk of the new coronavirus infection. We will publish the measurement results.

● Results of mask wear rate measurement
In this star-studded location, a total of four cameras were placed on the side of the bench and two stands on the opposite side of the bench on both days to measure the mask wearing status of customers.

As a result, the average mask wearing rate on DAY1 on the 13th was 97.6% during the match. Half time average was 95.0%. On the 14th DAY2, the average mask wearing rate was 97.5% during the game. Half time average was 95.2%. During half time, there are more scenes where customers eat and drink in the audience, so it is confirmed that there is a slight decrease compared to during the match, but it is confirmed that the mask wearing rate is extremely high through throughout it was made.
*Reference: The results of measuring the mask wearing rate in 4 locations in the 2021-22 season averaged 96.3% during the match and 92.6% during half time.

● CO2 concentration measurement results
Closed spaces with poor ventilation are said to increase the risk of infection if they are infected with the new coronavirus infection, and efficient ventilation is required even when hosting increased events. As a large number of people gather in the location, the CO2 concentration in the location rises, but by taking outside air in through mechanical ventilation and opening the doors, the concentration is able to hold.

In this All-Star location, we installed 10 CO2 measuring devices on the 13th and 12 on the 14th to measure the ventilation situation.
*The venue location is as shown below.

As a result, we were able to confirm that the CO2 concentration was more than 1,000ppm and rose from opening time to the peak when customers were sitting in the hall, but the value gradually decreased. During the game, there was a slight increase or decrease, probably due to the influence of customers who left their seats at half time and returned to their seats, but it was confirmed that there was a general decrease in the second half of the game. we have confirmed the appropriate ventilation situation. Although 1,000ppm is generally stated as a guideline for ventilation, it is also said that “proper ventilation and air flow” is also important. , Naturally, the number itself rises rapidly, and the fact that it decreases in the sitting state also suggests that the state of ventilation was good.

In addition, based on the number of visitors and related parties this time, and the status of measuring the CO2 concentration of the whole location, we have roughly estimated the number of ventilation times in the location, and confirmed that ventilation is ensured at least once the year. hour.. This meets the standard ventilation rate (30m3/hour per person) specified by the Act on Ensuring Sanitary Environments in Buildings, and is intended to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infectious disease specified by the government. It also corresponded to the amount of ventilation for .

Here are the details for each day of the CO2 concentration:

【DAY 1, January 13】
・ Starting with the G-SHOCK SKILL CHALLENGE which started at 16:25, CO2 concentration rose to around 1000ppm around 17:00 when many customers were seated for various competitions. However, it gradually decreased from around 17:30 during the DUNK CONTEST.
・ Although the CO2 concentration rose again just before the B.LEAGUE ASIA RISING STARS GAME from 19:00, it peaked around 19:30 and declined thereafter.

【DAY 2, January 14】
・ The CO2 concentration increased gradually from the opening of the venue at 15:00, and although the speed of increase increased towards the Dot Estée B.LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME from 19:15, it started to decrease towards the beginning of the game.
・ During half time around 19:40, the concentration increased and decreased due to the influence of customers leaving their seats temporarily (the influence of the flow of people), but from around 20:00 when the second half of the game started, a decrease was seen again.
