A Showcase of Young Talent
The 31st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival concluded yesterday, showcasing the remarkable talent of young chess players from around the globe. A total of 310 participants competed in age-group championships, culminating in a prize-giving ceremony led by Ibrahim Mohamed Al Marzouqi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Chess and Mental Games, who presented awards to the winners.

Recognizing Excellence
beyond the age-group championships, the festival also recognized outstanding participation and overall performance. Mohamed Al-Muaini and Salama Al Hammadi were awarded the “Best Participation” awards for their contributions as players representing the Emirates. Hindi Banchomareth Babayiva received the award for the best overall player participating in the championship.
Fisher 960 Championship Concludes
the festival also hosted a “Fisher 960” (or Chess960) championship,a variant of chess designed to reduce the impact of opening planning. Iran’s Moveid Sina secured first place, followed by India’s Muhammad Shayan and the Philippines’ Salisido Richelioa.
