Accident reported in terminal C of the Monterrey International Airport

Dozens of passengers were stranded in the Monterrey International Airport this Saturday morning, due to a fire in terminal C that caused activities to be paralyzed and the evacuation of about 160 people.

State Civil Protection established that the incident checked into a restaurant duct which is located inside the air terminal.

The fire broke out inside the Publish restaurant and upon the arrival of the emergency units, the situation was brought under control.

Elements of the Nuevo León Fire Department and the National Guard joined the mobilization. The fire would have been caused by Grease accumulation in one of the restaurant’s ducts.

The smoke alerted those present of a fire around 6:00 in the morning and alarms were activated so people began to leave the place.

According to PCNL, the Airport administration decided to carry out the following prevention actions: suspend activities in terminal C today and work on the impact on the restaurant.

Passengers were informed that access will be through terminal A.
