According to the news, Al-Julani was killed in the army operation in Idlib
The Syrian army launched an airstrike on the headquarters of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, targeting its central leadership. The semi-official newspaper, al-Watan, reported that Abu Muhammad al-Julani, the group’s emir, might have been present during the strike.
After the attack, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham enforced strict security around the damaged site. They restricted access to both organization members and civilians.
Al-Julani is a prominent leader of armed groups that have fought the Syrian army for years. He initially led the group when it was named al-Nusra Front. Later, the group rebranded itself to Fatah al-Sham and then to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in 2017, after merging with other armed factions.
