‘The acid kept in the bottle was transferred to the syringe and then sprayed on the face’
Punalur: Acid attack on emergency department nurse in taluk hospital. Neetu (32), a native of Changanassery, was attacked. Neetu was admitted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital with burns on her face and eyes. Her husband, Bibinraj, a native of Vettikkavala, has been taken into custody by the Punalur police in connection with the incident.
The incident happened in front of the hospital at around 5pm on Sunday. According to the police, Neetu has been quarreling with her husband for some days. They have two children. Bibin came to the hospital to get his children’s Aadhaar card, which was with Neetu. Police said the acid kept in the bottle was transferred to the syringe and then sprayed on the face.
