Actor Ranbir Kapoor said that he acted in Brahmastra without being paid. This was said in an interview with the media. Director Ayan Mukerji has also admitted this. The director said that Ranbir made the film after making many sacrifices and was not paid.
‘The truth is that the film was made with a lot of personal sacrifice. Ranbir is not paid like a star. This is a big deal. Because otherwise this film wouldn’t have been made.
Alia was also given a very small prize. It was 2014 when Alia became a part of the film. There was no stardom like today. The director added that the reward was very small.
In the interview, Ranbir also explained the reason for giving up the award. ‘You asked if I picked anything up or not. Actually I did. This is the stake for my life and I am also the producer of the film. There was no charge for the first part. But my belief in the amount of money the film will make in three parts is beyond anything I can get as an actor’; Ranbir said.
