Actor Ahmed Al-Saadani raises controversy in farewelling his father, the “Mayor”… What happened?

Actor Ahmed Salah Al-Saadani sparked widespread controversy on social media after he appeared emotional at the funeral of his father, who was taken to his final resting place yesterday, Friday, after he passed away in the morning.

A large group of actors and stars of Egyptian drama attended the funeral of the late artist Salah Al-Saadani, and they surrounded his son, who seemed very affected, and his strength failed the moment the late artist’s coffin was placed in the mosque, where Ahmed Helmy, his wife, the star Mona Zaki, Ahmed El-Sakka, and Karim Mahmoud Abdel appeared. Al-Aziz is in the audience, with actor Mohamed Adel Imam leading the way.

Imam is considered one of the closest friends to Al-Saadani, the son, just as the late artist was a close friend of the star Adel Imam. Imam, the son, asked the media and photographers not to photograph his friend in his father’s farewell, as the latter became very emotional at those who wanted to take pictures of him while he was crying for his father, while the artist shouted. Muhammad Imam: “What are you filming?”

A video clip spread widely on social media of the artist Al-Saadani, in which he was irritated by an ambulance carrying his father’s coffin at the photographers, shouting insults and threats at them if they approached him.

Controversy on social media

The incident was the subject of widespread controversy on electronic platforms, as many social media pioneers took the initiative to defend Al-Saadani, considering that photographing the sad and private moments of the late actor’s only son is a violation of the privacy of the moment and feelings.

Yesterday, Friday, the stars of art in Egypt and the Arab world mourned the great artist Salah Al-Saadani, who passed away at the age of 81, according to what was announced by the Acting Professions Syndicate in Cairo.

Pictures of Al-Saadani and words of eulogy, presented by Egyptian and Arab artists, occupied social networking sites in several Arab countries, especially since the late artist left a large legacy of dramatic, theatrical and cinematic works amounting to nearly two hundred artistic works, most notably the two television epics of writer Osama Anwar Okasha, “Nights of the Dream” and “Arabesque”, in which he played the title role.
