Mexican Actor Edgar Frías Font Dies Months After Son’s Death
GUATEMALA CITY (AP) — the Latin American entertainment community is mourning the death of Mexican actor and creative Edgar Frías Font, who died at age 52. Font, who resided in Guatemala with his wife and children, passed away two months after the death of his son, Axel, from leukemia.
Actor’s Association Confirms Death
The National Association of Actors (ANDA) confirmed Font’s death in a statement. “The National Association of Actors deeply regrets the death of our partner Edgar Frías Font ‘Edgar Font,’ a member of our union,” the statement read. “Our condolences to their family, friends, and colleagues. Rest in peace.”
Family Tragedy
In February, Font and his wife, Claudia Aline, shared news of their son’s passing. “My child in a month left me. He lost the battle against cancer,” Font said at the time.He noted that Axel’s leukemia was diagnosed Jan. 15 and was notably aggressive.
Wife’s Tribute
Font’s wife, also an actress, expressed her grief on social media. “I don’t know why life is playing this bad pass,” she wrote. “I don’t know what he wants to teach me, but my husband went to take care of his little son. My life partner could not with the pain of having lost his little one.” She added that funeral services would be held for those wishing to pay their respects.
Font’s Career
Born in 1973, Edgar Font was a recognized figure in the entertainment industry, particularly in Guatemala. He began his career with roles in films such as “Hunter hunter” and “Fatal inheritance” in 1997.
