Hong Soo-joo shared her thoughts on appearing in the Disney+ original series ‘Royal Roader’.

‘Royal Roader’ is the story of minor leaguers trying to take the throne of Korea’s largest conglomerate, which they wanted to have, become, and steal. Hong Soo-joo played the role of Na Hye-won, a debt collector’s daughter who is steadfast even in the face of a hellish reality, and showed a new side of her never seen before, impressing viewers around the world. with her charm as an actress.

The character ‘Na Hye-won’ marries ‘In-ha’ (Lee Jun-young), an illegitimate child of the Kang-oh Group, to escape her extremely difficult life, but is overwhelmed by her bad deeds and goes about carving. out her own way. Hong Soo-joo perfectly portrays the role of an actor, of seeking cooperation with ‘Tae-o’ (Lee Jae-wook) and ‘In-ha’ (Lee Jun-young) for the same goal of taking over the Kang-group oh , to the subtle love line of a love triangle, and to reveal hidden desires, which impressed his presence as a person. In particular, he managed to capture the hearts of viewers worldwide by not only gently expressing the character’s personality and tone of speech, which changes as the story progresses, but also by showing a variety of styling.

The following is the full Q&A with ‘Royal Roader’ Hong Soo-ju.

C1. All episodes of ‘Royal Roader’ have been released. I’m curious about your feelings.

I was nervous and nervous as it was my first time taking on a long-running drama, but I was grateful and relieved to be able to work with great actors. I was grateful to all the staff, including director Min Yeon-hong, director Lee Hyang-bong, and writer Choi Won, for expressing the character of ‘Na Hye-won’ well and in many ways. On the one hand, I feel sad to say goodbye to the active and enterprising Hyewon.

C2. If you had to choose one famous scene of ‘Na Hye-won’ in ‘Royal Loader’ that shows her best, what would it be?

I think the conversation with ‘Tae-oh’ on the roof of the rooftop water tank tower in Part 2 is the scene that best reveals ‘Na Hye-won’s’ character. ‘Hye-won’ says to ‘Tae-o’, “If I ask you to help me, can you do it?” This is because this is the scene where he reveals his secret desires to others for the first time and is the definitive scene where all events begin.

C3. Several unpredictable and shocking events happened in the drama, but ‘Na Hye-won’ seemed to have overcome the crises well with a heady and strong attitude. However, when was the moment when ‘Na Hye-won’ was most shaken?

Among the many events that happened to ‘Hye-won’ in ‘Royal Loader’, I think the moment when ‘Tae-oh’ was injured was the most critical. I think that the fact that ‘Teo’, a character he grew up in a difficult environment and had sympathy and close friendship with, was hurt felt pained and apologized as if he had been injured himself. I think this is the moment when the confident Na Hye-won was shaken and regretted the most.

Q4. The three main characters had a slightly different ending than the original plan they had made. Wouldn’t ‘Na Hye-won’ be sad that she couldn’t reach the goal she dreamed of as a college student, or that she didn’t manage to reach the top of the Gango Group?

Although the three main characters ended up with a different ending compared to what they had initially planned, I don’t think ‘Hye-won’ felt sad or regretful. ‘Hye-won’ wanted to reach the top, and ‘Tae-o’ and ‘In-ha’ were friends who had experienced the process of reaching the top together, but when they actually tried , it didn’t seem like the life they all wanted. ‘Hye-won’ also made her way to the top, but the more she progressed with the project, the more she realized it wasn’t the life she really wanted. So even if I didn’t make it to the top, I don’t think I would be disappointed at all.

Q5. While playing ‘Na Hye-won’, can you think of the moment when you were most immersed and empathized with the character?

We sympathize deeply with the scene where he talks to In-ha, and locks her in the hospital. From Hye-won’s point of view, she tried to believe in In-ha, thinking that she was the closest person to her and the person she had to rely on. I think that scene was the moment when ‘Hye-won’ completely abandoned her feelings for ‘In-ha’ for the first time. I believe that the moment when ‘Hye-won’ expressed her calm tone and expression was the point where she completely abandoned her human feelings towards ‘In-ha’ and became a complete stranger.

Q6. As Hong Soo-joo, is there anything you’d like to say to ‘Na Hye-won’?

I want to tell you that I have had a hard time going through and overcoming many difficult situations. Still, in some ways, I think it’s lucky that ‘Hye-won’ was able to live the life she wanted in the end. I support Hyewon and her new life ahead.

Q7. Has there been any changes or growth for actress Hong Soo-joo before and after ‘Royal Roader’?

Although I studied the script diligently and prepared thoroughly beforehand, new parts arose on set, so it was a grateful and meaningful moment where I had to learn thoroughly from scratch. After working on a long running drama, I learned about things that I didn’t know before because I had never experienced it before, and it was a time when I realized that I needed to practice my acting a little deeper and more detailed. In the process, I remember the process of creating the work while discussing it with many staff members and actors.

Q8. All episodes of ‘Royal Lord’ will continue to be streamed on Disney +. Finally, say hello to viewers at home and abroad.

I think you will be able to enjoy watching ‘Royal Roader’ two or three times because the fun of watching it follows the various emotional lines of each character. Thank you very much for watching the growth process of the character ‘Na Hye-won’. We will show you a better image in the future. Thank you
