Incident at Shahbag Police Station: ADC Haroon Or Rashid’s Involvement

Sanjida Afrin, the wife of President Azizul Haque, visited Bardem Hospital for treatment on September 9 last year. During her visit, she sought the assistance of ADC Haroon Or Rashid, a colleague, to meet with her doctor. However, the situation took a turn when Azizul Haque, accompanied by some Chhatra League members, arrived at the hospital and assaulted ADC Haroon due to suspicion.

The incident escalated when ADC Haroon took two BCL leaders to Shahbag police station and allegedly beat them at midnight. In response, Chhatra League leaders and activists gathered in front of Shahbag police station in the evening, protesting the incident.

According to the victims, ADC Haroon Or Rashid, of the Ramna police department, led the beating. As a result, he was suspended by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Inspector (Operation) of Shahbag police station, Ghulam Mustafa, was also removed from duty in connection with the incident.
