Adidas and Arsenal FC Back Calls for Better Enforcement Standards in Premier League Matches

Arsenal Backs Adidas’ Claims of Unacceptable Ball Calls and VAR Errors

Arsenal Football Club issued a post-match statement today, supporting Adidas’ comments on the controversial ball calls and VAR errors that occurred during the Premier League match against Newcastle on November 5.

Arsenal extended their gratitude to both the players and supporters for their commendable efforts and impressive performance at St James’ Park. However, the club emphasized that the world’s best league, boasting exceptional players, coaches, and fans, deserves a higher standard of refereeing.

Addressing the Need for Urgent Action

The club called upon the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) to urgently address the issue of enforcement standards in relation to refereeing decisions. Arsenal believes that it is crucial to focus on taking action rather than engaging in endless analysis, explanations, and apologies.

Arsenal also expressed their support for Howard Whitby, the Chief Certification Officer, in his ongoing efforts to achieve the highest certification standards required by the league. The club values collaboration and welcomes any initiatives that improve the overall quality of refereeing.
