Will Ospreay Kicks Off Post-All In Era in Dallas

Fresh off a star-studded pay-per-view, All Elite Wrestling returned on September 2, 2026, for an episode of AEW Dynamite at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Dallas, Texas.

Newly crowned AEW World Champion Will Ospreay opened the broadcast. Wearing a worn-down expression, he admitted to the crowd that he had been “on a bender” since Sunday celebrating his victory.

Ospreay acknowledged the “You Deserve It” chants from the live audience. He thanked everyone who supported his journey from the beginning of his career through his current run in AEW.

A Nod to Kenny Omega and United Empire

Turning his attention to Kenny Omega, Ospreay praised his rival. He stated that Omega has been the best wrestler in the world for the past decade and remains so.

Ospreay noted that Omega is better than him 364 days out of the year except for the one day they clash. With their record now tied at two wins apiece, Ospreay told the audience he is satisfied with the score. However, he added that Omega can name a time and place if he wants to settle it further.

Reflecting on the lineage of the championship, Ospreay looked at the belt and listed past titleholders who served as his personal heroes before noting that his idols are now his rivals. While questioning his own confidence at times, Ospreay declared that the title proves he is now the standard in AEW. He also shouted out the United Empire faction, thanking members Henare, Francesco Akira, and Callum Newman for backing him in Japan and at Wembley, and stated his intention to build a United Empire presence in AEW alongside the existing Japanese group.

Ricochet and Gabe Kidd Stake Their Claims

The championship celebration was quickly interrupted by Ricochet, Toa Liona, and Bishop Kaun, representing a group noted as The Demand. Ricochet congratulated Ospreay and Omega on their All In match and stated that he and Ospreay share unfinished business and remain forever intertwined. Ricochet claimed that Ospreay would not have reached the All In main event without him and demanded the first shot at the world title.

The situation escalated further when Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors interrupted the segment. Kidd claimed that Ospreay cost him the opportunity to become the first English IWGP Champion and now the first English AEW Champion. Kidd stated that while Ricochet’s request was fine, he intended to take the first shot, adding that he did not just want the title but wanted to take Ospreay’s life.

United Empire Saves the Day in Dallas

As Kidd and Connors prepared to rush the ring in what was described as a five-on-one situation, Henare, Akira, and Newman sprinted down with chairs to make the save.

Ospreay confronted the incoming attackers and offered them two choices: fight immediately in their street clothes or settle the dispute in the main event.

High-Flyers Collide in Trios Championship Action

In the night’s in-ring competition, the AEW World Trios Championship match pitted Swerve Strickland and The New Level against The Rascalz. The opening moments saw Myron Reed lock up with Strickland before tags brought in Austin Creed and Dezmond Xavier.

Action intensified as Creed caught Xavier with a running senton, bringing in Kofi Kingston for a chest kick and a double-team maneuver. The pace quickened when Zachary Wentz entered the fray.

Creed climbed onto Kingston’s shoulders to execute a moonsault onto Wentz, who immediately answered with a Tornillo wiping out Kingston. The chaos spilled outside the ring as Kingston launched himself off the ropes with a crossbody onto Wentz, Xavier, and Reed on the floor.

Back inside the ring, Reed absorbed a kick and a right hand from Kingston before a blind tag allowed Creed to land a Tornado DDT, followed by a vertical suplex from Strickland before Wentz broke up the pin.
