The increasing role of artificial intelligence in the workplace could lead to a recession as AI takes over white-collar jobs, according to Sebastian Siemiatkowski, CEO of Klarna. Siemiatkowski made the comments on The Times Tech podcast, highlighting the potential impact of AI-driven automation.
Siemiatkowski noted that Klarna’s workforce has already shrunk from approximately 5,500 to 3,000 employees in the past two years due to efficiency gains from AI. Klarna, known for its “buy now, pay later” service, was an early adopter of openai technology.
