Near Lab (CEO Jaehyuk Choi), an expert in artificial intelligence (AI) drones, announced on the 6th that its autonomous flying drone ‘AiDEN’ won the top prize at the iF Design Award.
It is explained that this is the first time that a domestic autonomous AI drone has won the internationally prestigious iF Design Award.
The iF Design Award, hosted by iF International Forum Design GmbH, a design organization based in Hannover, Germany, is considered one of the top three design awards in the world, along with the ‘Red Design Award’ Dot’ and ‘IDEA Design Award’.
Aiden was chosen as the winner by a panel of 132 judges made up of experts from each country as it provides solutions for national defence, public safety and industrial safety, despite weighing just 2kg.
Nears Lab was selected for the ‘SME Industrial Design Support Project’ by the Seoul Design Institute in 2023 and completed Aiden’s design with specialist design firm D-Partners.
Jae-Hyuk Choi, CEO of Near Lab, said, “Receiving the iF Design Award is recognition not only for the exterior design but also for Near Lab’s outstanding AI technology,” adding, “We will continue to strive to make autonomous flight possible AI. technology that can be used comfortably and beautifully “I’m going out,” he said.
