The last hurdle before the black belt was taken at an international aikido seminar held in Haigerloch.
International Aikido Gathering in haigerloch
During the last weekend of february, seven Aikidoka from Judo-Club Balingen e.V. participated in an international Aikido seminar. The event took place in the Witthauhalle in Haigerloch. Ki-Aikido haigerloch e.V. organized the seminar and invited Master Bruno Maule (9th Dan) from Italy.
A total of 25 martial arts enthusiasts from Germany, France, Italy, and Switzerland attended the seminar in the Felsenstädtle.
Master Bruno Maule’s Expertise
Master Bruno maule shared a program for all ages, drawing from his vast experience. His explanations of how modern aikido techniques are derived from the highly efficient martial war techniques of the Samurai were particularly noteworthy. He emphasized that, “Ohne dieses Verständnis ist es kaum möglich, die sanften, harmonischen Bewegungen der vollendeten KampfKUNST Aikido dennoch effizient auszuführen.” (Without this understanding, it is indeed hardly possible to execute the gentle, harmonious movements of the accomplished martial ART Aikido efficiently.)
Ki-Aikido for Young and Old
A special children’s training session was held on Saturday afternoon, wiht four Wakaikidoka (young Aikidoka) from JCB participating. The Aikido style practiced by Bruno Maule and his students is called “Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido,” often referred to simply as ”Ki-Aikido.” This style uniquely incorporates Ki-Prüfungen (ki exams) alongside regular technique exams (Kyu and Dan grades). These Ki exams focus on developing and understanding Ki, emphasizing inner values.
Ki-Prüfungen and Advancements
Two Ki-Prüfungen took place on Saturday evening. Christian Breithaupt from the Aikido Makoto division in JCB completed the Shoden exam, the final step before achieving the black belt (1st Dan). Afterward, Erdal Altunel from Stuttgart passed the Okuden exam, a prerequisite for the 4th dan.
Master Bruno Maule was very pleased with the exams and celebrated the outstanding results with the entire group.
