davos – President of the United States Donald Trump will be about three hours late to Davos, Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) after the presidential plane Air Force One experienced a “minor electrical problem” shortly after takeoff.
The incident forced Air Force One, which was carrying Trump and his entourage, to fly back to Joint Base Andrews near Washington DC on Tuesday evening US time. Trump then had to change planes to continue his flight to Davos.
US Secretary of the Treasury,Scott Bessant,as reported by AFP on Wednesday (January 21,2026),said that the incident caused Trump to experience delays in arriving at davos and joining other world leaders at the WEF.
“I believe President Trump will be about three hours late.I haven’t seen the latest schedule,” Bessent said while speaking to reporters in davos.
