Patel resided in Etobicoke and practiced at a dental clinic in Mississauga. She earned her dental degree in India in 2016 and obtained her⁣ license to practice in Canada in 2019, ⁣according to the⁤ Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

Her husband told The Canadian Press he had been planning to book a ‍flight for himself and their ⁣one-year-old child to join her in India. The Air India flight 171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, was carrying 242 passengers, including 53 British⁢ nationals.
