Dubai: Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai arrives at the Dubai Expo 2020. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan participated in an event organized to protest against the harassment of women in the streets. The event was held at the Amphitheater in the city and was well attended.
World class players also participated in the event. American actress Aja Naomi King, Arab actress Mona Zaki and Saudi Arabian actress Aseel Omran joined Aishwarya in a talk session on “Stand Up Against Violence Against Women in the Street”. The event was organized in collaboration with the French cosmetics company Holobach, an NGO.
It is estimated that 80 percent of women in the world are victims of violence in public at least once. Around 86 percent of people do not know what to do. Aishwarya told all the mothers that it is unacceptable for our girls to grow up in a world where there are people who do not know what to do in such situations. They also demanded that silence should not be maintained in a society where this trend, which is never acceptable, continues.
