Akane Hotta’s Adorable Cosplay as Mei from “My Neighbor Totoro” Steals the Show
Talent Akane Hotta (31) recently updated her Instagram with a photo of herself cosplaying as Mei from Studio Ghibli’s beloved film “My Neighbor Totoro.” The post has garnered a significant response from fans and followers.
Akane Hotta began by sharing a behind-the-scenes story about her cosplay experience on Nippon Television’s “Sekai no Hate Made ItteQ!”, which aired on the 15th. She wrote, “Mei-chan performed as a party trick on ItteQ,” and uploaded a photo of her in costume.
Recalling her nervousness before the performance, Hotta mentioned that her legs were shaking backstage, and she doesn’t remember much of the experience. However, she did share that she had originally expressed her love for Ganbareruya’s Ghibli jokes, and before she knew it, she was the one performing the joke.
After the performance, Hotta received kind words from everyone, which left her on the verge of tears. She humorously added, “If you haven’t seen it yet, you can see all the miracles that Uchimura experienced in his 60th birthday on TVer.”
