Al-Ahly backs down from the Abu Jabal deal… and negotiates with Zed to restore Ali Lotfy

A source inside Al-Ahly Club revealed that club officials backed away from completing the contract with Mohamed Abu Jabal, the goalkeeper of the National Bank and the current Egyptian national team, during the current winter transfer period.

The source confirmed that Al-Ahly officials backed off from including Abu Jabal, and the matter had nothing to do with the Egyptian national team’s match yesterday against Congo, after he was expected to sign the contracts today, but he contacted National Bank officials and apologized to them for completing the deal.

The source indicated that the National Bank withdrew from contracting with Mahmoud Al-Zanfali, the Interior Ministry’s goalkeeper, and did not send the value of the deal to the police team, so the latter withdrew from sending the release of his contract and the deal also failed.

The source explained that Al-Ahly took the path of negotiation with Z in order to loan Ali Lotfy, its former goalkeeper, for a period of six months until the end of the current season, after which he returns to the Z club, and also renegotiated with Ceramica in order to contract with Mohamed Bassam in order to settle the deal as quickly as possible. Before the winter registration window was closed by the Confederation of African Football.

Al-Ahly wants to sign a new goalkeeper to compensate for the absence of Mohamed El-Shenawy, the team’s captain, after he suffered a dislocated shoulder and underwent arthroscopic surgery in Germany, and his absence from the stadiums was confirmed for 3 months.
