Transfermarkt: Al-Ittihad Ranks 54th in Global Attendance
Saudi football clubs have made notable progress in global attendance rankings, showcasing the Kingdom’s growing influence in football. According to Transfermarkt, Al-Ittihad Club leads in fan attendance for the 2024/25 season in the Saudi Roshan League.
Al-Ittihad attracted 192,372 fans across five home matches, averaging 38,474 fans per match. This high attendance reflects the club’s strong support and popularity.
Al-Ahli Club also reported impressive figures, drawing 117,956 fans in four home matches. This results in an average of 29,489 fans per match, highlighting their active fan base.
In Riyadh, Al-Nasr Club engaged well with fans, bringing in 86,861 supporters over five home matches, averaging 17,372 fans per match. Similarly, Al Hilal FC attracted 57,521 fans in four home matches, with an average of 14,380 fans per match.
These numbers emphasize the increasing popularity and competitive spirit of Saudi clubs on the international stage. Investments in high-profile players and better facilities have boosted fan engagement and attendance. However, the league has faced challenges, as overall average attendance per match dropped by 16% to fewer than 8,200 fans, despite total attendance increasing by 13% to 2.5 million fans.
The shift in fan engagement reflects both the progress and hurdles as Saudi football continues to grow.
