Alaska Airlines to Launch Seattle-Rome Nonstop Flights in 2026

Alaska Airlines will begin its first European service next year, offering nonstop flights from Seattle to Rome. The new Alaska Airlines Seattle route, slated to begin in May 2026, marks a critically important expansion for the airline.
The airline’s acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines last year, including its long-haul jets, made the new route possible. Alaska airlines said Tuesday that tickets will go on sale in the fall. the four-times-a-week service will utilize Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner jets.
Andrew Harrison, Alaska’s chief commercial officer, stated the airline intends to add numerous long-haul international destinations from Seattle through the end of the decade. “We are serious about building a global gateway out of Seattle, and we will serve the major demand markets,” Harrison said.
Airline leaders have expressed a desire to expand globally. The airline also noted that many members of its Mileage plan loyalty programme have requested Rome service from its Seattle hub.
