Aldar Unveils Fahid Island, a Major Abu Dhabi Real Estate Project
Aldar Properties has announced the launch of Fahid Island, a notable new Abu Dhabi real estate development. The project, valued at more than 40 billion dirhams ($10.9 billion), will add 6,000 residences to the city’s housing stock.
Fahid Island, situated between Yas Island and Saadiyat Island, boasts an 11-kilometer coastline.The masterplan emphasizes waterfront living, with 4.6 kilometers of beachfront and mangrove forests. Aldar aims to create a vibrant island community where every residence is within a five-minute walk of the water.
mohamed Al Mubarak, chairman of Aldar, stated that Fahid Island builds upon the success of Saadiyat and Yas Islands, setting “a new benchmark in premium waterfront living, wellness, and sustainable design.”
Talal Al Dhiyebi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Aldar, noted strong demand from local and overseas investors in the Abu Dhabi real estate market. He said fahid Island will consolidate the emirate’s position “as one of the world’s most desirable destinations to reside, invest, and visit.”

Thirty percent of Fahid Island will be dedicated to green spaces, including a 10-kilometer landscaped Berm Park for fitness and wellness. The island will offer various water activities, such as kite surfing and paddle boarding. A 2-kilometer waterfront promenade will feature retail,dining,and art experiences.
The island’s design promotes eco-friendly mobility, with pedestrian bridges and a streetscape prioritizing foot traffic. Aldar has engaged architects such as Kengo Kuma, Koichi Takada, ACME, and NAGA Architects to design the residential offerings, which include apartments, townhouses, and villas.
The first residential development, Fahid Beach Residences, will consist of seven buildings, each with 65 residences. Fahid Island is targeting high sustainability ratings, including LEED city and Communities Platinum precertification and an Estidama 3-Pearl rating.
