Alfredo González Díaz, PT candidate in Guerrero, is murdered

The PT candidate for mayor of Atoyac, on the Costa Grande of the state of Guerrero, Alfredo González Díaz, was shot to death this Sunday afternoon, reported the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

Through a statement, The FGE reported that around 3 in the afternoon, when González Díaz was traveling in a vehicle on Juan Álvarez Boulevard in the municipal seat of Atoyac, he was murdered by a “firearm” and an investigation file for homicide was opened.

During the last 4 months, the homicide of several applicants or candidates has been reported in different parts of the country, adding numbers to the country’s violence rates.
