AliExpress: Concerns Over Harmful Search Terms for Teenagers

I have also seen many articles saying that the recommended search terms displayed on the Chinese e-commerce company AliExpress act as another harmful environment for teenagers.

Ali’s recommended search terms include somewhat embarrassing words such as ‘dress of desire’.

When you search for underwear, you will find many more adult products than regular underwear, and some products may even have sexually suggestive images or videos.

Anyone can view these screens on Ali’s app or website without having to register as a member.

In addition, it was confirmed that laser pointers, which can only be purchased by adults due to concerns about eye damage or burns, are being sold without being classified as ’19+’.

AliExpress explained, “We are actively taking measures internally to ban products that do not comply with Korean regulations,” and “We are aware that there are many areas that need improvement as it is still in the early stages of localization .”
