Its clinical benefit, while statistically significant in slowing cognitive decline, is modest, typically slowing decline by 27% ⁢over 18 months in clinical trials.

For decades,the “amyloid hypothesis” – the idea that amyloid plaques ⁤are the primary ⁤driver ‍of Alzheimer’s – has dominated research. ‍Leqembi’s approval lends support to this theory, but it’s⁤ increasingly clear ‍that Alzheimer’s is a ⁢multifaceted disease.
