The new codes, featuring raised UV dots, are now appearing on the packaging of a growing number of Amazon devices, including Fire TV, Echo, and Kindle products. Customers can simply feel for the tactile markings on the back of the Quick Start Guide and scan the QR code with their smartphone camera to access a complete digital guide on Amazon.com.
This initiative stems from direct collaboration between Amazon’s device packaging, accessibility, and customer support teams. By working closely with blind and low-vision customers and employees, the teams gained invaluable insights into packaging preferences and accessibility needs.
