American jazz virtuoso singer Tony Bennett passed away on the 21st (local time) in New York City, USA. He is 96 years old.
Major foreign media such as the Associated Press and the New York Times (NYT) reported that Bennett’s PR manager, Sylvia Weiner, confirmed Bennett’s death.
Bennett’s exact cause of death has not been released. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2016.
Meanwhile, the deceased is a legendary American singer who has been active in jazz and pop for over 70 years. He is a veteran who has released more than 70 albums in his lifetime. In particular, the Associated Press reported that 17 of the 19 Grammy Awards he received were won after he was in his 60s.
