Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, the Saudi Al-Nasr player, sparked controversy earlier by publishing his photo on his official Instagram account, in which he appeared wearing black nail polish.
Ronaldo is not the only one who paints his nails, as many players do this, especially martial arts stars, and apply a layer of black polish to protect them from cracking and injury when they receive strong blows.
The German newspaper “Bild” indicated that athletes paint their nails black to protect against fungi and bacteria, and Ronaldo does this to protect himself from injuries.
Many athletes do the same thing, including the world-famous boxer Mike Tyson and MMA fighter Francis Ngannou, who published his picture with Ronaldo hugging each other, and the Portuguese star’s toenails appeared with black polish.
