Kottayam: Kottayam electrical inspector arrested while accepting bribe. Executive engineer KK Soman, who is an electrical inspector at Kottayam Electric Inspectorate, was caught by the surveillance. He was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a contractor from Ernakulam.

Earlier, Soman had bought Rs.10,000 from the same contractor. The contractor approached the surveillance after demanding payment of Rs. 10,000 again. Surveillance officers came and arrested Soman while he was taking money from him in his office on Wednesday morning and put it in his wallet. Kottayam SP VG Surveillance Soman was caught by a team led by Vinod Kumar.

A government official has been arrested in another case of bribery at a time when the government is tightening its stance that it will take strict action against those who accept bribes.
