An officer was suspended from work in the death of “Al-Arish student” Naira Salah… and her father demands that those responsible be held accountable

The Ministry of Interior has completed examining the position of the student Shorouk Ahmed, five of her colleagues, the university city supervisor, and one of the friends of the suicidal student, Naira Salah, in preparation for presenting them to the Public Prosecution to uncover the circumstances of her suicide.

A security source said that the student’s father, Shorouk, a police officer, was suspended from work until the investigations were completed, out of concern for her integrity.

The medical report issued by Al-Arish General Hospital on the condition of Naira Salah revealed that the student was brought to the hospital and was transferred to the reception department as a result of a disturbance in the level of consciousness, a sharp drop in blood pressure, and a weak pulse resulting from the allegation of ingesting a toxic substance of unknown source and quantity. The student was given first aid, admitted to intensive care, and was given appropriate medications, but she died as a result of her poor condition.

The last thing Naira wrote on her personal Facebook page: “And we know that you are distressed by what they say, so glorify the praise of your Lord and be among those who prostrate.”

Her relatives and friends began telling the story of the student from Al-Arish, the 19-year-old student Nayra Salah Mahmoud Abdel-Razzaq Al-Zoghbi, who joined the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Al-Arish University and is studying in the first year. She wanted to live in a simple way, as she is the daughter of the village of Mit Tarif in the Dikernis Center in Dakahlia, a diligent student who wants to achieve her dream of studying and graduating, but fate did not give her permission.

The hashtag “The Right of the Al-Arish Student” topped Egypt’s trend on the “X” platform, after the story of Naira, a student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Al-Arish University, spread.

Ahmed Muhammad Mahmoud, 26 years old, the victim’s cousin, confirmed that the student’s father and mother went to the Public Prosecution in Mansoura to give their statements since Friday morning.

The family of the late student Naira Salah Mahmoud Abdel Razek Al-Zoghbi, known in the media as the student at Al-Arish University, narrated the details of the death of their daughter, a student at the College of Veterinary Medicine, 19 years old.

Salah Mahmoud Abdel Razek told Al-Masry Al-Youm, “My daughter is a first-year student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Al-Arish University.”

He added: “My wife received a call from the late daughter on the day of her death, informing her that she was suffering from vomiting, so her mother advised her to take a pill to calm the vomiting, but an hour later we received a call from an official in the university city informing us that our daughter had been transferred to the hospital, and she asked us to come to the hospital.”

The father continued: “Her mother and I traveled from our village in Dakahlia to Al-Arish, and during our travel we tried to contact her without any response. Immediately upon our arrival at the hospital, we received news of her death after she entered a coma on the machines in the hospital. Her mother collapsed and asked for the procedures to be cleared quickly to expedite the return of the body to the village.” Mit Tarif, affiliated with the Dikernes Center, without knowing any details about the cause of death, or disagreements between her and her colleague, as we believed that the death was natural, while the hospital administration insisted on performing the funeral prayer over the body for speedy burial.”

The father said, crying: “A large number of Naira’s colleagues attended the funeral, and then they began to narrate what happened,” adding: “Colleagues explained to us that Naira had entered into a dispute with a colleague of hers who threatened to expose her after she took pictures of her in the bathroom, and asked her to apologize on a group stage.” Through the college’s WhatsApp application, so as not to expose her, my daughter was afraid and agreed and apologized through the group.”

The father continued: “My daughter was drawing closer to God, and she was excelling academically, but what happened to her was strange, and on the day of the incident she was fasting,” noting that she asked her mother for one hundred pounds and a charging card, and we actually sent them to her, but she was poisoned after the Moroccan breakfast.

The father demanded that a judicial investigation be opened into the incident to uncover the real causes behind the death and hold those responsible accountable.

Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud, 26 years old, the victim’s cousin, said: “After the death of my cousin, we were surprised by her colleagues launching a campaign on social media demanding the return of her rights,” noting “the discovery of threatening letters from her colleague and a letter of apology that she was forced to receive.”

A state of anger prevailed among Al-Arish University students and social media users following the announcement of the death of the student, “Naira,” after she was transferred to Al-Arish General Hospital, last Sunday, after feeling severe stomach cramps, but she died due to the deterioration of her health condition.

A medical source at Al-Arish General Hospital confirmed that the student came to the reception department suffering from a disturbance in the level of consciousness, a sharp drop in blood pressure, and a weak pulse resulting from the allegation of ingesting a toxic substance of unknown source and quantity. First aid was administered to the student and she was admitted to intensive care and was given the appropriate medications. But she died as a result of her poor condition.

Social media pioneers launched the hashtag “The Right of the Al-Arish Student” and a campaign to hold accountable those responsible for the death of the veterinary medicine student at Al-Arish University, and many interacted with it, including university students, the student’s friends, social media celebrities, and businessmen.

An official source at Al-Arish University said that the death of a student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is under investigation by the security authorities, and that the university will issue a statement about the incident after the end of the security investigations.

The responsible source added, in statements to Al-Masry Al-Youm, that the university is following the investigations conducted by the security authorities, and has no comment on what is being circulated on social media and the Internet.

The source indicated that the university administration did not receive any complaints from the student or her colleagues, and that she is an outstanding student in high school and has a good reputation.
