While Ahn Cheol-soo, chairman of the Presidential Transitional Office, is visiting Hive, the agency of BTS, tomorrow (2nd), it seems that he will not discuss BTS’ special military service.

On the 1st, the transition committee issued a statement in the name of the spokesperson’s office and said, “I would like to inform you about Chairman Ahn’s visit to Hive.” Hearing opinions.”

Earlier on the same day, Shin Yong-hyeon, spokesperson for the transition committee, held a regular briefing at the transition committee office in Toongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul and said, “Chairman Ahn will visit the Hive headquarters tomorrow with members of the social and cultural welfare division.” It was a visit to hear the opinions of the industry.”

Then, when asked whether BTS is considering exemption from active duty service, he reiterated, “The purpose of my visit is not because of the issue of special military service,” and “for the development of K-culture.” He also cautioned against broad interpretations, saying, “The purpose is to listen, not to discuss or review an agenda.”

Currently, a bill to amend the Military Service Act is pending in the National Assembly to allow alternative service by incorporating BTS and other pop culture artists who have a high contribution to the national interest as ‘art agents’.
