Ana de Armas to Star in Psychological Thriller Sweat
Ana de Armas will lead Sweat, a new psychological thriller directed by J Blakeson (I Care a Lot).Teh film centers on the dark side of social media fame and the lengths people will go to achieve it.
De Armas will portray Emma Kent, a fitness influencer striving for the same level of success as her idol, Kat Highbrook. A disastrous encounter with Kat leads Emma into a precarious situation involving Trent, an obsessive fan. Trent’s dangerous devotion forces Emma to confront the boundaries of her ambition.
Sweat is an English-language adaptation of Magnus von Horn’s 2020 Polish film of the same name. The original film received positive reviews, with The Hollywood Reporter calling it a “compelling and unsettling portrait of obsession.”
