AOC Unveils Chilling ‘Blood-Stained Sign’ Left in Her Office After Fiery Pager Attack Remarks
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Condemns Israel Over Pager Attacks in Lebanon
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has spoken out against Israel’s alleged involvement in a series of pager bombings in Lebanon, which have resulted in the deaths of at least 12 people, including two children, and injured over 2,800 others.
Ocasio-Cortez took to social media platform X to express her outrage over the attacks, stating that a “blood-stained sign” had been placed in her House office accusing her of supporting terrorism after she questioned Operation Phaser.
“This attack clearly and unambiguously violates international humanitarian law and undermines U.S. efforts to prevent broader conflict,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Congress needs a full accounting of the attacks, as well as answers from the State Department about whether there was any U.S. assistance in developing or deploying this technology.”
The Department of Defense War Law Manual prohibits the use of apparently harmless devices designed and manufactured as explosives, including “traps or other devices in the form of apparently harmless portable objects specifically designed and constructed to contain explosives.”
Ocasio-Cortez has been openly critical of the Israeli government amid rising tensions in the Middle East, and has called for a full investigation into the pager bombings.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken has denied any U.S. involvement in the attacks, but Ocasio-Cortez has raised questions about whether the U.S. may have had prior knowledge of the pager bombings.
The pager bombings have resulted in widespread destruction and chaos in Lebanon, with reports of multiple explosions and injuries.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry has reported that at least 20 people have died and over 450 have been injured in a second wave of attacks.
