Apocalypse Unleashed: The 200m Tsunami That Left the World Shaken for 9 Terrifying Days

Scientists Uncover the Cause of Mysterious Tremors that Shook the World

Foreign news agencies reported on September 12, 2024,⁢ that sensors ‌detected⁣ vibrations around the world in September ⁣2023.

Mysterious tremors were detected continuously for 9 days, causing scientists to‍ work together to ‌investigate. Where exactly ⁤did this vibration come from? And now they have finally found⁢ the‌ answer.

The Discovery

What was found⁣ was that during that time, a large landslide occurred near‍ the iceberg in Dickson⁤ fjord in Greenland. Causing large amounts of rock to collapse along with the glacier into the sea. This resulted in a tsunami wave as high as 200 m.

But this tsunami was confined to the fjord, a long, narrow bay between‌ steep cliffs. Causing it to bounce back and forth⁤ for up⁣ to 9 days until such a mysterious vibration occurred. and cause‌ the face of the mountain in this area to change.

The Impact of Climate Change

Scientists say⁤ that Landslides like this are happening more and more. Due to changes in the weather causing the⁤ glaciers that support the mountains of Greenland to melt.

The Investigation

The results⁢ of this investigation⁢ have been published in the journal “Science” and are a joint investigation by a team of international⁢ scientists and the Danish Navy.

“When a colleague detected the signal (The tremor)⁤ last ⁣year,⁤ it didn’t look like an earthquake. We call it confident. ‘unknown seismic objects’, said Dr Stephen Higgs ‌of the University “University College London” (UCL),⁣ who is also‍ one of ‍the researchers.

“It appeared every 90 seconds for nine days,” leading scientists to discuss it via online chat. “At the same‌ time a colleague from Denmark‍ who does a lot of field ⁣work in Greenland We received reports that a tsunami had occurred in a remote⁣ fjord.” “So we got together,” said Dr Higgs.

Uncovering the Evidence

The scientists then used seismic data ⁢to pinpoint the source of the signal to Dixon Fjord in eastern Greenland. before gathering additional evidence‍ including satellite images and ‌photographs of Dixon⁤ Fjord taken ⁣by the Danish Navy. It wasn’t long before the first signs appeared.

Satellite images show dust clouds in this fjord. Comparing photos‍ before and after the event It shows the mountain collapsing and transporting⁣ part of the⁢ glacier to the sea. They⁣ calculate that as much as 25 million cubic meters of rock, equivalent to 25 Empire State Buildings, fell, causing tsunami waves as high as 200 m.

A Unique Tsunami

Tsunamis are usually caused‌ by undersea earthquakes. And it will disperse within hours if in the⁢ open sea. But the‍ Dixon Fjord tsunami was different, explains ⁢Dr Higgs. Landslides occur within the territory. ‍200 km from the ocean amidst the complexity of ⁣the fjord system. This makes the waves unable to dissipate energy.

A ‌team of scientists created‍ a simulation model. ⁤to show that Instead of spreading The waves crashed back and ⁣forth against the mountain ‍for⁢ 9 days, spreading ‍seismic waves ⁤around the world.

“We have never seen water movement of this ⁣magnitude ⁣for so long,” said Dr ⁢Higgs.
