Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana Expresses Gratitude to President of Faso
The President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, recently granted an audience to the Apostolic Nuncio of Ghana, Monsignor Julien KABORE. The meeting took place on a Thursday morning, where the prelate expressed his gratitude to the Head of State for the unity shown towards him during his episcopal ordination in Rome on September 14.
“I was deeply touched by the presence of Burkinabè colleagues and brothers, as well as an official delegation from Burkina Faso, during my episcopal ordination. I am grateful for this gesture of solidarity and encouragement,” Monsignor Julien KABORE stated at the end of the meeting with the Head of State.
Inspired by the message of Pope Francis following the terrorist attack in Barsalogho, Monsignor KABORE expressed hope for the return of peace to Burkina Faso. “The Holy Father’s message conveyed encouragement, compassion, unity, and hope for the Burkinabe people. I firmly believe that despite current difficulties, Burkina will regain peace,” the Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana emphasized.
To achieve peace in Burkina Faso, Monsignor KABORE highlighted the Catholic Church’s ongoing initiatives and efforts to build bridges with other religions, promoting social cohesion and coexistence.
Monsignor Julien KABORE was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana by the Pope on June 29, 2024.
