As generative artificial intelligence continues to evolve, the importance of AI domain names with “.ai” is increasing day by day.AppleIt was revealed that the company acquired the domain “iWork.ai”. Rumors are circulating that Apple may be preparing an iWork service that integrates artificial intelligence.

Whois shows that the owner is Apple

Generative AI, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT, is attracting a lot of attention, and Apple may develop office services that integrate the AI.

Applehas acquired the domain “iWork.ai,” as revealed by a post on a social media account that tracks the acquisition status of AI domains.

Apple originally launched iWork.com in 2009, but discontinued it in 2012 in favor of iCloud.

iWork currently consists of three parts: word processing software (Pages), presentation software (Keynote), and spreadsheet software (Numbers), but with the domain acquisition with “.ai”, Apple is raising the possibility that they are preparing an AI version.

If you search for “iWork.ai” on Whois, where anyone can view information about IP addresses and domain name registrants, Apple will actually appear as the owner.

There is also the possibility that the purpose is to prevent its use by others.

Just because the “iWork.ai” domain was acquired by Apple does not necessarily mean that Apple will develop new services.

Now that “.ai” domain names have become prominent, it seems possible that “iWork.ai” will be retained for the time being to avoid confusion in the use of the domain by others.
