Aragon Presses for 2025 Teruel Investment Fund Agreement

The Aragon government is pushing for the signing of the Teruel Investment Fund (FITE) 2025 agreement but awaits a date for formalization with the central government. The Aragonese executive has sent two formal requests to the ministry of Territorial Policy, seeking to advance the agreement and stimulate business projects and investments in the province of Teruel.
The Aragon government initially aimed to sign FITE 2025 before summer. Minister Vaquero Mar stated during an appearance in the Courts of Aragon that these contacts were initiated via letters. Mar also announced the expansion of these funds to include investment and innovation projects in the defense sector, broadening the scope of the Teruel Investment Fund.
This delay is not unprecedented. Last year, the Aragon government also experienced delays in finalizing the FITE agreement. The central government approved the FITE at the end of 2024,with the Council of Ministers giving it the green light on Dec. 17. Aragon followed suit with final approval on Dec. 19 through an Remarkable government Council, with the Teruel investment fund signed telematically afterward.
The executive branch previously voiced concerns about signing the FITE so late in the year, as it reduced the time available to promote business projects.
